A Message From Our Founder…The Real Story Behind Why We Exist:

“I’ve always been the type to experiment in the kitchen: baking, cooking, creating. But it was skincare that became my obsession.

By the time I could turn on the stove, I was making emulsions and body butters. Shea butter from Ghana. Cocoa butter from Ecuador. Mango seed butter, cupuaçu, babassu oil. If it came from a seed or a tree somewhere tropical, I was melting it down in my grandmother’s kitchen, trying to create the perfect formula.

It was when I was a young, rambunctious kid that I realized my skin wasn’t like others. One scratch or bug bite left a dark mark on my skin that remained for months, sometimes years. Those marks weren’t just scars, they were reminders of moments where I’d cried, physical evidence of pain that my melanated skin carried differently.

The moment that changed everything? I was shaking hands with a guy I really liked for the first time, and he made a face when he felt my hands. That look stayed with me.

When I started modeling as a young adult, I found myself under a microscope, I decided it was time to formally turn this into a business. I’d already been formulating for myself, family, and friends for years. But once customers started telling me how my products transformed their dry, dehydrated skin into smooth radiance, and more importantly, how it faded the dark marks they thought were permanent, how it changed their confidence and the way they showed up in the world, I knew this was bigger than just my experience.

What’s so gratifying is building a business that lives at the intersection of food science and art, where the same precision I learned in the kitchen translates into formulas that actually work. I aim to build the brand I needed when I was younger, one that put the needs of melanated skin at the forefront, while creating formulas that work beautifully for all skin types.
